More Conditions (Froze, Numb, Gag)
GW is on its happy way onto Chapter 3. But in looking at the new skills, as well as the one in Ch2, it seem to me that A.net is afraid to add new conditions into the fray.
Here are some that I had in mind...
Elementals
Buring is usually associated with fire elementals. But it seem that the other 3 don't have a condition of its own. So maybe could have something like:
Freezing
The character suffers -4 health degeneration for the duration and move and attack at 75% slower. Like Burning, the duration is short, usually lasting for about 3-5 seconds.
Visual: A character is surrounded by block of ice and turn blue.
Source: Ice/Water related elemental spells/attacks.
Numbness:
The character will reduce its attack speed by 33%, and all its attack skills take twice long to cast. Duration usually between 8 to 18 seconds.
Visual: slowed attack speed, and shock of lighting around the character.
Source: Lighting/Air related elemental spells/attacks, or from poison like skills.
Petrified
(not sure about this one)
For the duration, character become imoblie and can not attack of cast spells, but gain +100AL. duration usually between 3...8 seconds.
Visual: Character become gray and stoned
Source: Usually Earth elemental, or curses.
with the arrival of shout heavy Paragon, would be good to add some anti-shout type of conditions.
Gag
For the duration, character's shout/chant skill are disabled. Also all spell casting have 50% chance to fail. duration usually between 3...8 seconds, and usually expensive to use (like Daze)
Visual: A chain like link around the neck.
Source: Curses, Mesmers, or Warrior/Assassin
Deaf
(there are blind, might as well have deaf. But cann't think of addtional effect for it.)
For the duration, character receive no effect from shout/chant skill are disabled. Duration usually between 6..18 seconds.
Visual: Things that block the side of head.
Source: Curses, Mesmers, or Warrior/Assassin
Well, that is what I can think of for the moment. Some where revisions from my previous thread http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=99285 Feel free to give feed backs.

Petrified is a bad idea.
Knowing how dumb are the PvE monsters, if one group of them cast petrify on an ally, the group will just have to backup out of aggro range, keep the ally healed ( which won't be hard with +100AL ) and nuke the hell out of the monsters while they mindlessly bash the guy.

Also it work great for setting up the "I am getting Hard" joke...

my relinquisher idea basically added a new type of character status, if you recall: condition, hexes and incantations.
incantations' effect cannot be removed. they can only be prevented by removing the incantation before it takes effect.
